Buyer Reviews
Purchased in June 2017 never owned a kayak before but had kayaked previously using sit in style. I did a lot of research on this model and determined that the stability was worth the weight of the kayak plus all of the storage and room was a bonus! After getting it I proceeded to mod it by wiring it up for a Lowrance Dragonfly 4 Pro, running lights, anchor trolley, 2 marine power switches to power on/off fish finder and lights, and marine grade power outlets 12v cig/ 2 usb/ led voltage meter keep tabs on battery. using a 12v. 24ah. sealed lead acid battery more than enough power for multiple days without recharging. Maiden voyage was to a local pond one hour away, spent 6 hours on the water everything worked out great. Next trip a bit more adventurous took the kayak out onto lake Erie via the mouth of the Rocky River, put out at about 6:30 P.M. returned at 10:30 P.M. great trip. Second trip to lake Erie put out at 4:30 P.M. returned at 9:30 P.M. this trip waves were 2'-3' definitely tested stability of kayak no problem for the Ascend 12T. I would use this kayak in any body of water with the exception of white water and waves higher than 3'. Also keep in mind that I had on board a hand held vhf, flares, first aid kit,visibility/emergency flag, safety whistle and a personal flotation devise worn the whole time any where near the water.
